Forest Moon Jewelry and Incense Holder, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
Ceramic jewelry holder covered with a handpainted forest scene and sculpted full moon. Real 22kt gold accents the dish and the rim, giving this moonlit forest a sparkle. Handmade from start to finish, creating a special spot for your rings, earrings, or other jewelry. An incense stick can be held in the moon's craters (such as short thin Japanese incense sticks like the ones pictured)
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy soft clear. The botanical patterns are imprinted from actual fern leaves and hand-painted with shades of green underglazes. The full moon is sculpted by hand.
Real gold is applied to the ceramic dish in a special process designed for ceramics, and the piece is fired a third time to bond the gold. It's a labor intensive process with a beautiful result.

Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
