Pink Sea Turtle, Ceramic Dish with Ocean Waves and 22kt Gold Accents
The sea turtle is one of the oldest animals on earth and one of most popular spirit animals. The sea turtle symbolizes determination, endurance, and calmness. Their shells are a reminder of our own spiritual shields.
With this ceramic dish, I wanted to capture the feeling of a sparkling and tranquil ocean, filled with clear water and small ripples, with the turtle drifting through it. The dish and the tiny turtle are sculpted from stoneware clay entirely by hand. The piece is fired to 2200 degrees F for full maturity, and gold accents are added to the rim and the turtle's shell in a separate firing, giving a deserved sacred representation of the turtle sparkling with gold.
The dish measures 5 inches across.
