Ladybug Jewelry or Incense Dish with Lavender and Gold Accents
Ladybugs are not only the protectors of the garden, they are also said to foretell good luck and romance. This cute ladybug ceramic dish is perfect for jewelry, trinkets, a special ring, or an incense cone. The ceramic dish is imprinted with a real lavender flower and the gorgeous leaves, and the rim is accented with real 22kt gold.
Lavender is long associated with love, devotion, and peace - making it a common flower to place in bouquets or to give as a gift. If you know lavender's amazing aroma, you also likely know its health, healing, and purifying powers - especially in creating calmness, good sleep, and peacefulness. This lavender comes from my garden and the pairing with a ladybug is a perfect combination of love and nostalgia.
This ladybug ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2100 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy warm white with the beauty of a high fired ceramic, showing off the intricate detail of the handpainted lavender flowers. A real 22kt gold overglaze is applied and then fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It is a labor intensive process that is worth the extra step.
Measurements: Approximately 5 inches wide
These pieces are individually made by hand from start to finish, and slight variations and organic shapes are what makes them perfectly unique. Each one is a little bit different because they are each pressed from a real lavender flower and then sculpted by hand. Some have more flowers and some are leafier, each one as individual as a fingerprint.
