Bumble Bee with Lavender jewelry dish
Bumble bees are the focused, productive, and patient presence among the plants and flowers. They are the sign of a thriving and harmonious garden. This cute little bumble bee is sculpted by hand, busy at work among beautiful impressions of real leaves on this high fired ceramic jewelry dish. 22kt gold accents add sparkle to the rim of this one-of-a-kind ceramic piece.
Lavender is long associated with love, devotion, and peace - making it a common flower to place in bouquets or to give as a gift. If you know lavender's amazing aroma, you also likely know its health, healing, and purifying powers - especially in creating calmness, good sleep, and peacefulness. This lavender comes from my garden and the pairing with a bumble bee is a perfect combination of harmony and health.
This bumble bee ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy warm white with the beauty of a high fired ceramic, showing off the intricate detail of the handpainted lavender flowers. A real 22kt gold overglaze is applied and then fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It is a labor intensive process that is worth the extra step.
Measurements: Approximately 5 inches wide
These pieces are individually made by hand from start to finish, and slight variations and organic shapes are what makes them perfectly unique. Each one is a little bit different because they are each pressed from a real lavender flower and then sculpted by hand. Some lavender sprigs have more flowers and some have more of the intricate leaves - both are beautiful.
