Fairy Garden Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents
Behind every garden's beauty there are elements of patience, care, and nurturing. To me there is also a feeling of magic. In this piece, I bring that feeling to life with a sparkle of gold on the leaves and flowers. The imprints on this kiln-fired ceramic jewelry dish are made with real flowers and leaves from my own garden. Real 22kt gold accents the rim and adds sparkle to the little garden in each one-of-a-kind ceramic piece.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and kiln-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy soft clear. The piece is imprinted with actual sage, mint, oregano, fennel frond, and rosemary leaves and a yellow fennel flower. The ceramic is then carefully hand-painted and kiln fired.
Real gold is applied to the ceramic dish in a special process designed for ceramics, and the piece is fired a third time to bond the gold. It's a labor intensive process with a beautiful result.
Measurements: Approximately 5 inches wide
Slight variations and organic shapes in handcrafted ceramics are what make them perfectly unique pieces of art.
