Large Fox and Evergreen Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Trinket Dish with Gold Accent
This large rounded jewelry dish features a little fox fast asleep in a cozy spot in the forest among the evergreen branches. In the winter, evergreens symbolize strength and endurance, as they remain green and full of life in the winter months. Foxes are clever and adaptable, also finding ways to thrive in winter months, their red fur striking and beautiful against white snow.
This fox ceramic jewelry dish is handcrafted, glazed and fired in my studio. This little fox figurine keeps watch over this beautiful ceramic leaf, a spot for your rings, earrings, or other jewelry.
This ceramic leaf dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The botanical pattern is imprinted from a real fir branches, and handpainted to accent the intricate detail. The orange fox is carefully handsculpted and then handpainted with colored underglaze and glaze.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear, showcasing the beautiful warm white of this natural ceramic clay. Real 22kt gold overglaze is dotted on the piece, one by one, creating a subtle sparkle. The gold is also applied to the rim, framing the sweet woodland scene. In this special process for adding real gold to ceramic, the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.
