Mama Fox and Baby Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Hydrangea Leaf Trinket Dish with Gold Accent
While mama fox rests, the curious little baby is wide awake. This piece symbolizes safety and protection which are such important things to feel, and of course the love of a mother. Even when its mother is asleep, the little kit feels safe and protected. And even though her eyes are closed, this mother is still watchful over the precious baby. This fox ceramic jewelry dish is handcrafted, glazed and fired in my studio. This little fox figurine keeps watch over this beautiful ceramic leaf, a spot for your rings, earrings, or other jewelry.
This ceramic leaf dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The leaf is imprinted from a real Hydrangea leaf, and handpainted to accent the intricate detail. The orange foxes are carefully handsculpted and then handpainted with colored glaze. The cozy family is the charming centerpiece of the leaf dish.
The glaze is a glossy soft clear, warm white on the underside. Real 22kt gold overglaze is applied to the rim in a special process, and the dish is fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It's a labor intensive process that gives a special finishing touch.
This jewelry holder is handmade from start to finish, entirely by me in my California studio. Each piece is a labor of love that I hope will bring light and joy into your home.
