White Dove in Evergreen, Ceramic Jewelry Dish
The white dove carries profound symbolism in many cultures and beliefs around the world. The dove represents peace, including inner peace and balance - especially here carrying an "olive branch." The dove encourages us to let go of the past and to seek peace and harmony in our lives.
Several botanical elements are used in the making of this peace. The "olive branch" is actually a thyme sprig, perfect in size for this small dove. The dove is hand sculpted and the wings are impressed with orchid tree leaves, leaving a faint impression enhanced with a touch of blue on the wings. The dove is set against a background of evergreen. Evergreen stands strong in winter - evergreen represents long life and being strong and balanced even in the face of hardship.
This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The glaze is a glossy warm white with the beauty of a kiln-fired ceramic, showing off the intricate detail of the handpainted evergreen branches. Read 22kt gold is applied to the dish which is then kiln-fired a third time to bond the gold to the piece. It is a labor intensive process that is worth the extra step.

These pieces are individually made by hand from start to finish, and slight variations and organic shapes are what makes them perfectly unique. Each one is a little bit different because they are each pressed from real botanical elements and then sculpted by hand.
